Resume
Maria Gallego is Emeritus Professor of Genetics and member of the reclab research group, studying the mechanisms by which cells maintain the integrity of their genomes. Her PhD at the University Autonoma of Madrid was followed by postdoctoral positions at the MRC London, Harvard Medical School Boston and the Centre de Genetic Moleculaire at Gif-sur-Yvette, working on the regulation of alternative mRNA splicing. In 1996 she started working on the molecular mechanisms of genetic recombination in plants at the University of Paris (Orsay) and moved to the University Blaise Pascal at Clermont-Ferrand in 1998 where she pursues her research into the molecular mechanisms responsible for the maintenance of genome integrity in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. She has participated in four european network grants (EU Framework) and two european Marie-Curie ITN doctoral networks as well as numerous public and industry funded projects in France.
